Youth At Elk Grove 'Strikes' Arrested For Possession of Handgun And Ammo

Late Saturday night Elk Grove Police arrested a 16 year old Sacramento male juvenile on suspicion for possession of a handgun and ammunition at 'Strikes' bowling alley on the city's west side.

According to reports, 'Strikes' security saw the suspect walk toward an electrical box at the east end of the parking lot, bend down and place an unknown object on the ground and then walk back to the entrance. Security checked the object and observed a loaded handgun on the ground.

Elk Grove police officers secured the firearm and was directed by 'Strikes' personnel to the whereabouts of the suspect who was leaving the parking lot in vehicle. Officers initiated a vehicle stop and 'Strikes' personnel identified the youth.

A search of the vehicle revealed a box of ammunition matching the confiscated firearm. The juvenile was transported to juvenile hall.
