Record week for unique hits and total visits

For the week ending Sunday, July 19, Elk Grove News (EGN) experienced record weekly traffic.

During the week, EGN broke its previous traffic record set the week ending Sunday, May 17, 2009. In addition, EGN also set record for the total number of visits. The total number of total visits was more than double the unique visits indicated repeated visits by a large number of unique visitors.

While the traffic has been increased steadily for EGN, it is believed that traffic skyrocketed during this week due to interest in the controversy over allegations of unprofessional conduct by Elk Grove city manager Laura Gill and city attorney Susan Cochran. Part of the traffic seems to be directed toward the comment sections of the various stories posted on the topic by many people people identifying themselves as city employees.

The city council has scheduled a closed session performance review of Gill and Cochran for its meeting this Wednesday night.

Let me get this straight, neither the City Attorney or the City Manager are from, or live in Elk Grove? They don't even live in the County? Is anyone employed in the higher ranks of the City Attorney or City Manager's office from Elk Grove or at least live here? These higher level positions should be held by people who have a vested interest in our city. People who truly understand Elk Grove, who have a history here, and who want to do the best job possible because they know their decisions will directly impact their family, friends, and neighbors. Perhaps then, these high level employees will be less interested in spending their time playing computer card games and more interested in doing their job right!
