Two Elk Grove juveniles placed an incendiary devise on a street yesterday afternoon that required deployment of the Sacramento County Explosive Ordinance Detail.


According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to a call regarding the device on the 9700 block of Peregrine View Court and found a broken bottle containing an unknown substance with burn marks on the street. Members of ordinance detail recovered the device.

Offices were able to determine that a 14-year old male juvenile constructed and ignited the device and a 15-year old male juvenile supplied the materials. The 14-year old suspect was transferred to juvenile hall while the 15-year old was issued a citation and released to a relative.

8:00 PM UPDATE: The substance was determined to be gasoline.
