Private funding provides $5,000 for new police dog

Elk Grove Police announced yesterday they had received a $5,000 donation to the departments K-9 unit. The money will go toward the purchase of a new police dog.

“The generous donation form Milk-Bone and Raley’s will make a difference in our community, and will allow our department to better serve the citizens of Elk Grove,” Elk Grove Police Chief Robert Lehner said.

A ceremony to commemorate the donation will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 30 at the Raley’s store at 4900 Elk Grove Boulevard. Members of the Elk Grove Police Department’s K-9 unit will also conduct a skills demonstration
