Elk Grove Police officers made arrests in two separate domestic violence cases yesterday. In both cases the victims were allegedly choked.

Officers arrested 49-year old Barry Willis of Stockton yesterday morning after he allegedly punched and attempted to chock the victim following a verbal argument. Willis was apprehended later after fleeing the scene.

The victim was issued an emergency protective order and Willis was transferred to the county jail.

The second incident occurred yesterday afternoon when officers arrested 45-year old suspect Lahn Tran of Elk Grove. Tran allegedly scratched and attempted chocking his victim following a verbal argument.

The victim sustained visible injuries but did not require medical attention. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

In other activity, officers arrested 25-year old Semisi Sina of Sacramento on suspicion of shoplifting at the Wal-Mart store on Elk Grove Boulevard. A 16-year old Elk Grove male juvenile was also arrested near Elk Grove Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard after being spotted driving a stolen vehicle.
