Elk Grove Teenager Arrested For Possession of Illegal Assault Weapon

Officers also catch shoplifter


A 19-year old Elk Grove resident was arrested yesterday and was found to be in possession of an illegal assault weapon.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers were serving a warrant on Danny Lam at his residence on the 9600 block of Anton Oaks Way when a search of the residence unveiled the illegal assault weapon.

The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

In other local criminal activity, Elk Grove Police officers arrested 37-year old David Rainwater of Sacramento for shoplifting at the Joann's Fabric store on Bond Road.

According to reports, Rainwater was seen taking items and concealing them on his person while in the store. As the suspect was leaving the store, he saw officers awaiting him.

Rainwater re-entered the store and tried to run away from the officers. The suspect was detained and taken into custody.

A records check revealed Rainwater to have an active felony warrant for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
