Juvenile suspects aged 10 and 11

Elk Grove Police arrested one adult and two juveniles last night following a shoplifting incident at the Target store on Laguna Boulevard.

According to police, 18-year old Robert Lopez of Elk Grove and an 11-year old boy were observed cutting plastic case containing electronic devises while a 10-year old boy acted as a lookout. Lopez and the two juveniles attempted to leave the store when they saw police officers.

Upon seeing the officers Lopez went to the restrooms. Officers detained Lopez and the two juveniles and recovered the merchandise.

Lopez was arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy and transported to the county jail. The juveniles were cited and released to guardians.

Juvenile arrested on gun charges


Police also arrested a 15-year old male after allegedly being in psssession of a stolen handgun.

Officers contacted the Elk Grove youth yesterday afternoon near Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road and conducted a probation search. Officers discovered the suspect to be in posssesion of a reported stolen handgun and ammunition. 

The juvenile was arrrested and transferred to juvenile hall.
