On October 31, 2009 at 9:39 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a shooting in the 9200 block of Elk Grove Blvd. Officers located a 24-year-old male victim suffering from a non-life threatening gun shot wound to the lower abdomen.

During the course of the investigation, officers determined that the victim had been involved in a verbal argument and subsequent fist fight with the suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Sacramento resident Irvin Laverne Cook (DOB 12-15-84). According to witnesses, Cook shot the victim in the abdomen with a semi-automatic firearm then fled the area in a gray 2003 Buick Century (Lic. 5SIE546). Cook (see phot) should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Irvin Cook is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department at (916) 714-5115 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00
