Suspected Drug Dealers Assault Elk Grove Police Officers

Elk Grove Police officers were assaulted yesterday afternoon following an undercover narcotics operation.

According to police reports, three plain clothes detectives from the Street Crimes Unit were conducting undercover narcotics surveillance in the 9000 block of Elk Grove Boulevard when they attempted to contact 45-year old Ernest Olguin of Elk Grove.

After identifying themselves as officers, Olguin reportedly fled on foot and officers gave chase. While officers were attempting to arrest Olguin, 48 year old Fermin Olguin of Elk Grove assaulted the officer in an attempt to free the suspect.

Third suspect assaults officers

As the officers were attempting to subdue both Olguins, a third suspect, 27-year old Brain Foster of Elk Grove reportedly attempt to free Ernest Olguin by punching an officer in the face. One of the officers engaged Foster who reportedly violently resisted efforts to take him into custody.

After additional officers arrived, the three suspects were arrested. Foster was transferred to an area hospital for medical treatment. All three suspects were transferred to the county jail.
