One person suspected of two of the robberies
Three Elk Grove eateries were held up by armed robber starting Friday afternoon.
The first establishment to be robbed was the Stage Coach Restaurant on the 8700 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. According to police reports, an unknown female suspect entered the restaurant early Friday afternoon and handed an employee indicating she has a gum and demanded money.
The employee complied with the request and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect then walked away from the establishment.
The suspect was described as a female adult of unknown ethnicity, approximately 20 years old wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
The second armed robbery happened at Yogi Yogurt on the 7100 block of Elk Grove Boulevard on Saturday evening. The unknown male suspect entered the restaurant with a small caliber handgun and demanded money from an employee.
The suspect then opened the cash register and took and undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect then fled the establishment on foot.
The suspect is described as white male adult, in his 20’s, 5”10” wearing a black hat, a white mask and black pants.
The third armed robbery took place 15 minutes later by a suspect fitting the same description as the Yogi Yogurt. This armed robbery took place at the Panda Express on the 5000 block of Elk Grove Boulevard.
As in the yogurt shop heist, the suspect entered the restaurant with a small caliber handgun and demanded money from an employee. The suspect then grabbed the cash drawer which contained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled on foot.
Police believe the same suspect committed both robberies.
Busy weekend for police
In addition to the three armed robberies and the drive-by shooting reported earlier, Elk Grove Police made several arrest and responded to several notable incidents last weekend.
According to reports, police made arrests for seven DUI’s three domestic violence incidents, two active warrants one vehicle burglary and one stolen car. Police took reports but were unable to make arrests on two muggings that involved cell phones and one speed pursuit in which the driver was able to elude police after abandoning the stolen car.
