An Elk Grove man was arrested Friday morning after reported gun shots were heard on the 9700 block of Bowmont Way.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to calls reporting to have heard guns shots at 4:12 AM in the area. Responding officers observed 31-year old Tyrone Anderson of Elk Grove leaning into a vehicle that had the driver’s side door open.

After detaining the suspect, officers searched the vehicle and discovered a loaded firearm under the seat and four expended shell casings in the front of a nearby residence.

The report did not list a motive for the shooting or whether any structure had been hit by the bullets. The suspect was arrested for illegally discharging a firearm and illegal possession and transferred to the county jail.

Other arrests

In other activity, police report seven arrests for DUI, two for narcotics and one each for public intoxication, domestic violence and an active warrant.
