A 16-year old Elk Grove male took a car ride the other night that didn’t end so well.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, officers attempted to stop a vehicle early Sunday morning near Bond Road and Elk Grove Florin Road for a vehicle code violation. After failing to stop, officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and pursued the vehicle.

A short pursuit ended in the nearby Camden neighborhood when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence on the 9000 block of North Camden Drive. The juvenile suspect and a passenger fled the area on foot.

After establishing a perimeter, officers were able to detain the driver but unable to locate the passenger. The juvenile was arrested and transferred to juvenile hall.
