Pays off campaign debt


Elk Grove Vice Mayor Steve Detrick collected $64,547 in campaign cash contributions during the calendar year 2009 according to documents filed with the Elk Grove City Clerk office.

Detrick collected $36,117 during the first half of ’09 and $28,430 during the second half. Detrick also received $1,039 in non-cash contributions, all of that in the second half.

Detrick’s largest contribution came from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 447 in Sacramento who donated a total of $15,000 for the year. For the year Detrick received a total of $22,200 from various labor organizations and $24,150 from various groups representing real estate, businesses and political interests.

Although Detrick raised a substantial sum during the year, he ended the year with a cash balance of $1,312 and an outstanding campaign debt of $25,000. During the year Detrick paid off $50,000 in personally financed debt from his 2008 campaign.
