Elk Grove Man Uses Gun in Argument, Gun Fails

An early Thursday morning argument could have ended badly if a firearm had not discharged.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, 24-year old Kenneth Mayberry was involved in a verbal argument on the 9500 block of Emerald Park Drive with another man. Mayberry reportedly entered his residence and retrieved a firearm to confront the victim.

According to the victim, the Mayberry allegedly pointed the firearm at him and pulled the trigger. The weapon did not discharge.

The suspect them was tackled by an acquaintance and taken back into his residence. Arriving officers located the firearm and arrested Mayberry who was transferred to the county jail.
