The Democratic Party of Sacramento County (DPSC) today announced the group’s endorsement of Captain Jim Cooper in his bid to become the next Sheriff of Sacramento County.
“Jim’s strong background in law enforcement and sincere concern for declining morale in the department make him well suited for tackling the real challenges facing the County as has the strong support of the Democratic Party,” Devin Lavelle Communication Chair of the DPSC said.
“As a life-long democrat, I am honored to have the support of the Democratic Party of Sacramento County,” Cooper said. “I appreciate that the Party has recognized my strong law enforcement experience and my commitment to keeping Sacramento County neighborhoods safe.”
The DPSC joins a long list of organizations and local elected officials to endorse Cooper including the Sacramento County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, Law Enforcement Managers’ Association, Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522, National Latino Peace Officers Association, Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, California Asian Peace Officers Association, and the Sacramento Central Labor Council AFL-CIO.
Cooper is running for Sheriff of Sacramento County in the June 2010 election against Scott Jones and Brett Daniels. Currently Coooper serves as Commander of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crime’s Task Force investigating Internet crimes against children and identity theft.

Just one more reason NOT to vote for cooper. I dislike party politics in local government. I see Mr. Davis is participating in that announcement. Too bad.
VOTE THEM ALL OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ! ! !
