Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested after Foot Chase

Elk Grove Police arrested a suspected drunk driver yesterday afternoon following a brief foot chase.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched after receiving reports of a reckless driving near Waterman Road and Bond Road. Officers then located the vehicle at the AM/PM market on Bond and Elk Grove-Florin Road.

Upon contact the suspect inside the store, 35-year old Robert Juarros of Elk Grove, displayed objectives signs of impairment.

When officers attempted to detain the suspect, he reportedly pulled away from the officers and fled on foot. After a brief struggle, officers were able to restrain Juarros who was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

In other activity, police report two separate arrests for domestic violence incident yesterday. Both male suspects were involved in verbal arguments that escalated into physical attacks.
