This weekend the Wilton Action Group (WAG) has mobilized its troops and has been scouring the storefronts in Wilton hoping to increase the already sizable crowd anticipated at this Wednesday's Elk Grove City Council meeting.

At this meeting, under the initiative of Elk Grove City Council member Gary Davis, the council is expected to consider removal of the Consumnes River floodplain from the city's sphere of influence application. The pre-meeting rally will start at 5 PM and the council meeting will start one hour later.

WAG stay out of our city politics, if you want to determin your own fates become a city and elect your own city council. If not sit down and shut-up.

Golly James... tell us how you really feel. Personally, I find it great that WAG has the interest of their community at heart. Prior to Elk Grove city hood residents of Elk Grove too had to fight for what they wanted. Sadly, the developers won and we got ... well..... we got what we got and I suspect Wilton wants to avoid THAT at all cost. I wish them better success than we had on this side of the cosumnes.

Well "James," as a resident/constituent and opponent of the SOI in its entirety, come Wednesday night I'll express the same to you "....sit down and shut up." It is the height of arrogance to pontificate from the dias and determine the fate of those who live outside Elk Grove's city limits. The Elk Grove City Council should focus on the city and leave county residents alone. You'll need to talk long and fast, which you appear to be good at, in order to get the 3 votes needed. Please spare us your flailing arms and loud voice. I believe we have all heard more than enough.
