If the un-scientific results of the recently closed poll on EGN are any indication of this June’s race for Sacramento Sheriff between front-runners Jim Cooper and Scott Jones, both candidates might want to keep some cash in reserve for the ubiquitous mailers during for the weeks before the November general election.

In a poll that just closed, in a four way race between front-runners Jim Cooper and Scott Jones, each drew 35 and 29% respectively. Candidate Brett Daniels attracted 4% while write-in candidate Frank Scafidi drew 5%.

Of significance, 24% of poll respondents are undecided.

While it is still possible for either to cobble together a majority, that would require Cooper to pick up 63% of the undecided vote while Jones would have the Herculean task of gathering 88% of the uncommitted.
Under election rules, the top two vote recipients will face-off in November. If the EGN poll is any indication, those two will be Cooper and Jones.
