An Elk Grove man suspected in the robbery of a ten-year old boy near Feickert Elementary School was arrested late yesterday afternoon.
According to Elk Grove Police reports the 10-year old boy and his younger sister were walking on Feickert Drive near the school when they were approached by 21-year old Kevin Scherer of Elk Grove. The victim had his wallet out when Scherer reportedly saw the wallet contained money.
Scherer then grabbed the victim by his shoulder and took the wallet. The suspect fled into the nearby neighborhood.
Through investigative efforts officers determined that Scherer lived on the 8500 block of Jasmine Crest Way and attempted to contact him. Upon contact, the suspect attempted to flee by jumping out of a second floor window into the back yard.
Scherer was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

This same "victim" tried to pay my neighbor to show him her breast earlier that day. He also could not identify Kevin. It was his neighbor who did not witness the crime that said it must be Kevin based on the boy's description (tall, thin, blonde, squinty eyes). Kevin is not thin, blonde or have squinty eyes. Another young man however who was there at the time of the crime does fit that descriptions. Elk Grove Police didn't ask him any questions. They went off what neighbors who did not witness the crime stated. Don't you just love Elk Grove PD.
