Among the four arrests made by the Elk Grove Police Department on Wednesday, June 30 were 28-year old Gerald Brown of Elk Grove and 23-year old Timothy Eccel of Sacramento.

Brown was arrested at the Winco store on Sheldon Road Wednesday morning after he allegedly attempted to purchase groceries with fictitious currency. Brown was transferred to the county jail.

On Wednesday afternoon, officers attempted to contact Eccel, a parolee-at-large, on the 8800 block of Vintage Park Drive in unincorporated Sacramento County. Upon contact, Eccel reportedly fled the area on foot.

After a brief struggle, officers were able to detain the suspect. A search of Eccel revealed that he was in possession of metal knuckles and a shaved key. The suspect was transferred to the county jail.
