An Elk Grove teenager was robbed of his video game yesterday during what appeared to be an armed robbery.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, a 15-year old male was contacted via text messaging regarding a video game system he was selling. The teenager agreed to meet the presumed buyer at a local park at 8:00 pm. The victim met the supposed buyer at the park and presented the system for inspection.

As the suspect was inspecting the system, he turned away and left with the property. When the victim followed the, the suspect lifted his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband.

Fearing for his safety, the victim stopped following the suspect. The victim saw the suspect enter the back seat of a blue Toyota Corolla that drove away. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’11”, 170 lbs, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and khaki shorts.

Well, this was a blue hooded sweatshirt, and if so this would be the start of a new trend, no?

Perhaps the victim simply mistook black for blue...they do look quite similar at twilight.
