Elk Grove Mom arrestedfor DUI with kids in car

An Elk Grove women was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, 27-year old Dorothy Ramirez was involved in a collision with a parked car near Millsap Court and Tillander Way. Ramirez's children were in the car at the time of the collision.  

Ramirez left the scene and returned later without her children. Tesponding officers located the suspect and determined she had displayed objective signs of impairment.

Ramirez failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and transferred to the county jail. The children were located at a relatives house and were transported to an area hospital for observation.
