I'm privileged to work for SMUD as a high voltage transmission engineer. I am thankful my utility's management embraces renewable energies rather than opposes them; although more expensive, they represent the means for energy delivery a hundred years from now, not just next quarter. IMO, public power represents a framework that would be wise to be emulated in other areas of our society, but sadly isn't.
In my little view, sustainable domestic energy is national security.
