Today's mailer of the day comes from Elk Grove City Council District 4 candidate Jimmie Johnson.

One of Johnson's early campaign moves was to seek a signed pledge from incumbent Gary Davis to run a positive campaign. Davis readily signed the pledge and to date has run a very positive issue-oriented race highlighting his and the city's accomplishments without mention any negative mention of his opponent.

As demonstrated by today's mailer, Johnson has quickly set that promise aside.

On the front side of this mailer, we see a fairly typical bullet-point list of Johnson's accomplishments and contributions to the community.

Flip it over, and it readily shows that Johnson broke the pledge, which his campaign produced, that says among other things that all candidates should be "respectful to my opponents."

While Johnson will no-doubt "lawyer-up" and say this mailer is not negative (not to mention the website and signs around town), he does so at his own peril.

This is nothing more than a deliberate pre-planned desperate attempt by Johnson to win office. It is this type of political shenanigans the breeds the very cynicism that Johnson inked his name to and promised not to indulge in.

Elk Grove voters are smarter than that.

This Jimmie guy is already demonstrating a lot of shady characteristics. I don't trust him one iota...I'm voting for Davis!!!
