Refuses to pay bill, brandishes knife at employee

An Elk Grove man probably regrets not having paid for the drinks he and three companions consumed Friday night at a local restaurant after he was later arrested on suspicion of DUI, brandishing a weapon and making threats.

The troubles for 22-year old Michael Ramos started early Friday night when he and three companions refused to pay for drinks at the Bull Wings restaurant on East Stockton Boulevard in Elk Grove. When an employee confronted the group outside the restaurant, Ramos allegedly brandished a knife and made threats to harm the employee.

Several eyewitnesses obtained the license plate number of the car the four men fled in and provided it to responding officers. Several hours later, an Elk Grove Police officer located the vehicle and initiated an enforcement stop.

Upon contact, the suspect displayed objective signs of impairment and failed a field sobriety test. The victim of the brandishing positively identified Ramos who was then arrested and transferred to the county jail.
