And the Fittest People in Elk Grove are…

On Saturday several local athletes met to raise funds for the Elk Grove Food Bank and compete to determine the who are the fittest people in Elk Grove.

The competion was held at the Sheldon Crossing Shopping center and was orgianzed by Warrior  Z Health & Fitness.

After several hours of strenuous competition the winner of the include the following:

Elk Grove’s Fittest Female – Sarah Shumway of SacValley Cross Fit of Elk Grove

WarrorZ Throwdown for the Fittest – Valerie Calhoun of Cross Fit Rocklin

Aside from encouraging fitness, the event more importantly helped raise funds for the Elk Grove Food Bank.

Present at the competition was Elk Grove Vice Mayor Steve Detrick who complimented the athletes. “This was a great event with over 50 competitors that not only fought the tough physical demands, but also had to fight the wind and rain,” he said.
