The Elk Grove Youth Commission is hosting the first Teen Town Hall Meeting on Nov. 9 to provide a forum and voice for Elk Grove’s teens.

From bullying and social media to public safety and recreation, the Youth commission is looking for input about issues Elk Grove teens face. The Youth Commission will use the information to develop future projects and programs.

What: First Teen Town Hall Meeting

Topics the Youth Commission will address:

* What are the main social issues facing teens in Elk Grove?
* Are there aspects of Elk Grove that are unsafe?
* What type of opportunities would you like to have in Elk Grove?
* How do you perceive the teens in Elk Grove?
* What resources and services are needed in Elk Grove for teens?
* Other concerns / ideas / solutions

The Youth Commission serves to represent Elk Grove's youth and identify their unmet needs, review existing programs, and provide recommendations and information to the City Council and the public at large about topics related to youth. The Youth Commission consists of ten members representing the five Council Districts. The Youth Commissioners are appointed by the Elk Grove City Council.
