Holiday Shop Elk Grove Kicks Off Black Friday

City to offer weekend e-tran “shopper shuttle” service

Starting Black Friday, businesses throughout Elk Grove are offering incentives and prizes for shopping locally this holiday season.

The Think, Shop, Live Elk Grove Holiday Shopping Program kicks off on November 26. Shoppers in Elk Grove can enter to win a $2,000 grand prize or dozens of other prizes from more than 40 local businesses.

Shoppers can enter to win prizes by visiting any of the participating locations, filling out a raffle entry form and dropping it in the holiday bag. The more stores a shopper visits, the more opportunities are available to win prizes.

Prizes include:

• -Grand Prize: $2,000 cash prize
• -Apple iPod Nano 8GB
• -2 Month Family Club Membership
• -Custom framed art
• -Cookie Lee Watch
• -$50 gift cards
• -Three months piano or guitar lessons tuition

Shoppers are encouraged to check back often, as local businesses continue to sign up daily. The program runs through December 19. Winners will be announced on December 20, 2010.

The City of Elk Grove’s e-tran department will be offering additional weekend and evening services to help making local shopping more convenient. Beginning this Saturday, local e-tran routes 157 and 162 will be available on the weekends and a “shopper shuttle” will be available weeknights. These added routes are designed to reach shopping, dining and entertainment establishments throughout Elk Grove this holiday season. All applicable e-tran fares apply.
