Shiroma projected winner in SMUD District 4

Based on early results, EGN is projecting Genevieve Shiroma to win reelection to the SMUD Director Ward 4 seat over challenger Khahn Tran. With 56 percent of precincts reporting, Shiroma has a 13,265 vote lead over Tran's 6,079.

Although Shiroma said she doesn't like to call victory this early, she said she was nonetheless pleased with the early results.

"I thank the voters for giving me the privilege of serving on the SMUD board another four years," Shiroma said. "I love representing Elk Grove."
