The Elk Grove Police Department have made an arrest in connection with two recent robberies in Elk Grove.  On January 26, 2011 at 7:56 p.m., 34-year-old Michelle Cooper  of  Elk Grove was arrested for the robbery at the Laguna Boulevard Subway and Safeway.

Cooper was stopped earlier in the afternoon at Bungalow Way and Ancestor Dr. after patrol officers observed her driving a 2004 silver Volkswagen Jetta with an altered rear license plate.  Based on the physical description of the “red-glove robbery” suspect, the officers determined that Cooper may have been involved in the two crimes.  Detectives conducted an interview of Cooper and determined that she was responsible for the robbery and attempted robbery.

Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, a booking photo of Cooper will not be released.  Michelle Cooper was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on January 28, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. in Department 63.
