Shots fired in store, no injuries

A Togo's sandwich shop on Elk Grove's far north side was held up by armed gunmen  late last night.

According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, store employees at the store located on the 8400 block of Elk Grove-Florin Road were confronted as they were preparing to close the store just after 10:00 p.m. Both suspects went behind the counter area of the business and demanded money.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun at the employees and fired one round into the ceiling of the business. The suspects were given an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and on foot.

The employees were not injured and responding officers were unable to locate the suspects.

The first suspect was described as a Black male, 17 - 20 years old, 6` to 6`2" tall, skinny build and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head with long black basketball shorts. The second was described as a Black male, 17 - 20 years old, 6` to 6`2" tall, skinny build. S-2 was wearing red/black stripped hooded sweatshirt with a black scarf wrapped around his face, long black basketball shorts, white tube socks and tennis shoes.
