Suspected Shoplifter arrested after leaving purse at scene

Mark this one up to not-so-bright criminal activity - a Sacramento women was arrested after leaving her purse behind at the scene of the crime.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers were dispatched to the Old Navy store on West Stockton Boulevard Sunday afternoon after a suspect had stolen merchandise and fled on foot from the store. Responding officers were advised by store personnel the female suspect had left her purse that contained identification.

Officers responded to the Sacramento address of 27-year old Celissa Calloway who was positively identified as being responsible for the theft. Calloway was arrested and transferred to the count jail.
