Nearly 35 communities within Elk Grove are teaming up with the Elk Grove Police Department on Tuesday, August 2 for the 28th annual National Night Out celebration. The event is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local crime prevention programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Throughout the city of Elk Grove, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., residents are asked to spend the evening outside with their neighbors and police officers. The National Night Out party is a simple way for people to meet one another, have fun and explore how they might work together to improve the safety and quality of their neighborhoods.

For additional information about National Night Out, please contact Crime Prevention Specialist Denise Costello at (916) 478-8117 or David Feinberg (916) 478-8130.
