Over 3,100 marijuana plants seized; 87-year-old amongst suspects

Yesterday the Elk Grove Police Department served several search warrants within Elk Grove, Sacramento and Plumas Lake related to a marijuana cultivation operation. The warrant service was led by detectives from the Elk Grove Police Department Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department’s HIDTA & CALMET team and the Yuba/Sutter Narcotic / Gang Enforcement team.


Detectives obtained and served search warrants for the following locations: Elk Grove (8474 Modena Way), Sacramento (8548 Aleksander Ct., 8 Brenham Ct., 34 Loma Mar Ct.), and Plumas Lake (1971 Bidwell Bar Dr., 1912 Long Horn Trail Dr., 1730 Guildford Way). During the warrant service, detectives located indoor marijuana-growing operations at several of the residences and recovered over 3,100 marijuana plants.


Detectives arrested Dao Rong Feng (4/15/66), Mary Phung La (6/9/47), Tyson La (3/6/88), Li Guang Lai (8/9/73), Dat Ngoc Mai (3/11/92), Hoang Ngoc Mai (7/15/90), Mei Huang (7/2/24), Sam Truong (8/19/74) and Anh Thi Mai Vu (7/31/71) on charges of 11358 H&S (Produce or Cultivate Marijuana), 11359 H&S (Possession of Marijuana for sales), 498 (d) PC (Theft of Utility Services) and 182(A)(1) PC (Conspiracy). The eight individuals are currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
