The Elk Grove Police Department will be conducting a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint within the City of Elk Grove on August 20 from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

The checkpoint will focus on removing impaired drivers, as well as unlicensed drivers from the roadways. Educational materials covering the dangers of driving under the influence will also be handed out to motorist.

The public is encouraged to call the Elk Grove Police Department at (916) 714-5111 (emergency line) or 911 if they observe a suspected impaired driver.

Funding for the sobriety checkpoint is provided through a DUI Enforcement and Awareness Grant that was made available by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

No wonder they schedule this the same night as the poisonius aeiral sprayingg...I'd rather be drunk than be like a sitting duck getting poisoned in my home as the aerial pesticdes seep in through my windows. This city is flat out insane. When will a governement official do something to stop us from being poisoned? I am gonna get drunk thinking abou it
