Still need to have your child immunized for the 2011-2012 school year? The Elk Grove Unified School District and other local agencies are offering free immunization clinics throughout the month of August.

The Elk Grove Unified School District is offering two free immunization clinics for students in grades K-12 who qualify. These clinics will provide ALL immunizations students need to attend school for the 2011-2012 school year. This includes the required Tdap (whooping cough) booster shot for students entering grades 7-12 for the 2011-2012 school year.

For EGUSD's clinics, student must meet one of the following three requirements to participate in the clinics: 1) have no health insurance or insurance that does not cover vaccines; 2) are Medi-Cal eligible; or 3) are American Indian or Alaska Native.

EGUSD immunization clinics will be held on the following days at these locations:

Monday, August 15 at 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Robert L. Trigg Education Center, 9510 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624

Wednesday, August 24 at 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Florin High School at 7956 Cottonwood Lane, Sacramento, CA 95828

The Effort, a federally-qualified health center, is also providing free Tdap booster shots to any student that needs one at shot clinics being held throughout the Sacramento area in August. All clinics will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Clinics will be held on the following days at these locations:

Tuesday, August 9 and Tuesday, August 16 at 8233 East Stockton Blvd., Suite D, Sacramento, CA 95828

Wednesday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 17 at 3415 Martin Luther King, Kr. Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817

Friday, August 12 and Friday, August 19 at 6015 Watt Avenue, Suites 2 & 3, North Highlands, CA 95660

A parent/guardian must accompany their child to these clinics. Parents/guardians must bring their child's immunization card (yellow card) or "Out of Compliance" letter from their school. No appointments are necessary.
