With a little less that 14 months to go before the 2012 general election, at least one candidate for the Elk Grove City Council has already received a major endorsement.

One of those receiving a major endorsement was Elk Grove Mayor Steve Detrick who announced earlier this week the endorsement from the trade group Region Builders.

In their endorsement, the group said:

"Your understanding of the issues facing the commercial building industry and commitment to improving the local business climate is the foundation of this endorsement. Due to your continued efforts to create jobs and encourage commercial investment in the City of Elk Grove, we believe you are the right and only choice for the Greater Sacramento regional building industry."
Currently Detrick has no announced opponents as he seeks his second four-year term.

Glad to know Residents of Elk Grove really has a Mayor that really has an "Open Policy" when I'm actually able to speak via phone, etc and discuss problems-"I'm a plain Joe" that makes me feel my "Vote" elected the right person...He doesn't mind talking to the residents. He gets my vote again. As a Business owner I like doers instead of political talkers.
