Elk Grove Police caught and arrested five men who are suspected of burglarizing a home on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police department reports, officers were dispatched to the 8200 block of Lauffer Way after receiving a report of an in-progress burglary. When they arrived, officers saw two suspects standing in front of the house.

Upon the police arrival, four of the suspects fled the the scene on foot and were pursued by officers. Other officers established a perimeter around the area and confirmed the burglary had taken place.

Officers were able to locate and detain all five suspects and recovered property suspected to have been stolen from the house. A search of one of the suspects car led to the discovery of a firearm.

The arrested suspects include 18-year-old Charles Timothy of Elk Grove, 19-year-old Javier Torres, 18-year-old Dursaa Mume and 19-year-old Gabriel Aquino, all of Sacramento. The fifth suspect was a 15-year-old male juvenile.

The four adult suspects were taken to the county jail and the juvenile to juvenile hall.
