An Elk Grove teen was arrested early last night after he reportedly took a swing at an Elk Grove police officer.
According to police department reports, officers were at a residence on the 6600 block of Springridge Drive conducting a follow-up on a missing person who may have been there. While officers were attempting to gain access to the residence at the front door, an officer observed the 14-year-old suspect exit out the back door of the home.
The suspect did not comply with order to stop and officers caught him after a short pursuit. As officers attempted to detain the suspect, he reportedly swung with a closed fist.
Despite efforts of the suspect's family to interfere, officers were able to handcuff the suspect. A records search revealed that the teen had an active no-bail warrant for his arrest.
The suspect was transferred to juvenile hall.
