Elk Grove Police Investigate Fatal Collision

Late Saturday afternoon at 5:58 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to the 9400 block of Bowmont Way regarding a vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and a motorized go-cart.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the male driver of the go-cart had collided with the pick-up truck while they were traveling in opposite directions on Bowmont Way. Medical personnel arrived and determined that the go-cart driver had suffered life threatening injuries. The unidentified driver was transported to a local area hospital where he later passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision. Identification of the deceased will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured in the collision.
At this time, the collision is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148.
