Steals Xanax, flees to bar

An Elk Grove man was arrested last night after he allegedly held up a local drugstore for prescription drugs.

According to police, 32-year old Michael Heer entered the Walgreens located on the 7200 block of Laguna Blvd and asked the pharmacist for Xanax pills. When the pharmacist refused, Herr claimed he had a gun.

Fearing for his safety, the pharmacist gave the robber the pills who then fled the store on foot. Responding officers located Herr next door at the TGIF restaurant where he was detained.

After being positively identified, Herr was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Pass some on to the city council. They may do a better job with a little lift.
