An Elk Grove man who fled the scene of an accident was quickly apprehended late last night.

According to Elk Grove Police department reports, 38-year-old David Sulaiman was driving a car that was involved in a collision with another vehcile near Sheldon and Waterman roads. After the collision, Sulaiman reportedly fled the scene without stopping.

The driver of the other vehicle was able to follow Sulaiman and get a partial plate number and called the police. Responding officers were able to locate the vehicle that was subsequently unoccupied.

After inspecting the vehicle, officers determined that damage to the vehicle was consistent with the victims vehicle. When officers attempted to contact the suspect at his residence, he fled the residence on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Sulaiman was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
