Officer attacked by one drunken suspect

Elk Grove Police were kept very busy Friday making numerous alcohol related arrests.

According to police reports, on Friday officers made four arrests for drunk driving, one for public intoxication and another arrest after an impaired suspect became aggressive with a police officer.

In the case were the impaired suspect became aggressive with officers, police responded to a call for a family disturbance on the 1600 block of east Taron Drive. There officers contacted 20-year-old A.J. Walker of Elk Grove who refused to follow instructions and took a fighting stance with a closed fist.

Walker then reportedly ran towards an officers and punched him twice in the ribs and once on the head. After officers were able to gain control, the suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail
