As part of the city's economic development plan, the Elk Grove City Council will hear a report at tonight's meeting on the possibility of placing directional way-finding signs throughout the city.

A public workshop was held in January on the proposal to place directional way-signs throughout the city. The signs are meant to be an economic and tourist development tool to help visitors to notable locations throughout the city ranging from city hall to the auto mall.

The estimated cost of the initial proposal, which includes 47 signs and 10 electronic ones, is $340,000.

In addition to this, the city council will likely have a lengthy meeting as they will also be hearing reports on the Southeast Policy Area, consider adopting the proposed budget for 2013, consider the purchase of 11 buses from Sacramento Regional Transit and hear a report on public input for major intersection improvements.

Tonight's meeting start at 6:00 p.m.
