Elk Grove Police arrested four male teenagers early last night after witnesses saw them burglarizing a house.

According to police reports, witnesses saw the four suspects, aged 16, 17 and 15, kicking in a side garage door on the 3200 block of Grimshaw Way. After realizing they had been witnessed, the four suspects fled on foot.

Responding officers located and detained the suspects in an alley directly east of the residence. A search of two suspects backpacks, both Elk Grove residents, led to the discovery of burglary tools.

During the investigation, officers discovered that another residence located in the 5500 block of Elk Hollow Court had also been burglarized. A search of two other suspects, both Sacramento residents, led to the discovery of property stolen from the Elk Hollow Court residence.

A search of one of the Elk Grove suspects bedroom led to the discovery of property stolen from the Elk Hollow Court residence. All four suspects were taken into custody then transported to juvenile hall.

The stolen property was returned to the property owner.
