A brazen home invasion robbery occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police, four unknown suspects used a ruse to gain access to a residence occupied by four people, one of which was a small child on the 10700 block of Calvine Road. Once inside, one of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded property.

At some point, one of the victims and a suspect became involved in a struggle. During the struggle, the victim was pistol whipped in the head and face and fired several rounds in the residence.

Two additional suspects gained access into the residence after entering the residence from the rear. The four suspects then exited the residence and fled in a blue four door vehicle with tinted rear windows.

The victim who was pistol whipped was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment. No one else was injured.

The suspect who committed the assault was described as a black male adult, 5’11”, 190 lbs in his 40’s. The second suspect was described as a black male adult, 6’2” with a skinny build in his 20’s and the third was described as a black male adult, 6’ with a skinny build in his 40’s.
