EGUSD Area 6 Trustee candidate Steve Ly.

Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee candidates Steve Ly and Jake Rambo have each announced more endorsements in their closely-watched battle for district's Area 6 trustee seat.

Ly's endorsements came from the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers and Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 477. "After I shared my vision and my concerns with the Federation they honored me with an endorsement," Ly said.

Rambo's most recent endorsements have come from Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones and Sierra College Board President Aaron Klein.

Although the school board positions are nonpartisan, both candidates have closely aligned themselves with the major political party's with Ly being supported by prominent Democrats such as assembly members Roger Dickinson and Dr. Richard Pan and Elk Grove City Council members Jim Cooper and Gary Davis. Rambo has the support of regional Republicans including Rancho Cordova Mayor David Sanders and Elk Grove City Council Members Patrick Hume and Sophia Scherman.

Both candidates are expected to appear at next week's EGUSD candidate forum being sponsored by Elk Grove Education Association. The event will be held on Thursday, Oct 4 from 6;30 to 7:30 p.m at 9297 Office Park Circle, Elk Grove.
