As part of National Drug Take Back Day, Elk Grove Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will provide a venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

The one-day event will be held this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8380 Laguna Palms Way. This drop-off point will allow community members to discard expired, unused and unwanted medications for destruction.

The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. Participants are encouraged to remove all pills, tablets and capsules from their packaging and consolidate them into one bag before disposal. Needles, auto injectors, or other sharps will not be accepted. For more information visit www.elkgrovepd.org.
