The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) and the City of Elk Grove are looking for community input to help develop Elk Grove's new Short Range Transit Plan for e-tran and e-van services.

An open house will be held on tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the City of Elk Grove Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way.

Participants can drop in anytime to provide input on the transit plan and unmet needs for transit services. Attendees will have the opportunity to review the City's current transit map, provide formal comments on the City's transit service, as well as speak to transit staff from SACOG and the City of Elk Grove. This plan will help shape public transit services in Elk Grove for the next five to seven years.

Passengers can take e-tran to the open house by using e-tran Routes 52 and 162 or by e-van for riders age 75-plyus or with qualifying disabilities. At the conclusion of the open house, a shuttle will be available to transport open house attendees to bus stop locations within the City that are not served by Route 162. The meeting is accessible to persons with disabilities.

To arrange for language translation or sign language interpretation for deaf persons, please call (916)-321-9000 or TDD access (916)-321-9550 at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.

The City of Elk Grove's Short Range Transit Plan was adopted in 2005. This plan update is being funded through a Caltrans Transportation Planning Grant awarded to SACOG.
