A driver was the target of an attempted carjacking last night.
According to Elk Grove Police, the 20-year old male victim was at a red light at Franklin Blvd. and Laguna Park Drive when one suspect approached the vehicle, reached inside an open window and punched the victim on the side of his head. As the first suspect opened the door, the victim heard and then saw another masked suspect enter through a rear passenger door.
The first suspect reached over and unbuckled the victim's seatbelt then pulled the victim out of the vehicle. The suspect let go of victim who ran from his his vehicle, which was now rolling into the intersection. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction and the victim drove away. A description of the suspects was not available.
